Christening Cupcakes!

Our lucky last baby to be Christened this weekend was Maxwell John. His Christening was held at Number 8 Restaurant, at Crown Casino.
Max's cupcakes were all Vanilla Bean, dressed in two shades of Wedgewood blue fondant over vanilla bean buttercream, and decorated in alternating styles of a dark Wedgewood blue "tiffanty" butterfly with white pearl details, and pale Wedgewood blue twin fondant pearls dusted with blue lustre.
The matching cutting cake is also Vanilla Bean, dressed in pale Wedgewood blue fondant over white ganache, and decorated with "tiffany" butterflies to match the cupcakes, some ivory blossoms, and "Maxwell John" in royal icing to match the invitations.

Christening Cupcakes!

Second christening cab off the rank this weekend (we had 3 all up!) was Mia. Mia's christening was held at Roselyn Court, in Essendon.

Mia's cupcakes were a mixture of Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Fudge cupcakes. All were dressed in blush pink fondant, and decorated in my whimsical style with a white ruffled flower, lavender butterfly and lemon rosebud, resting on a royal icing swirl.

The cutting cake to match is in Vanilla Bean, dressed with blush pink fondant over white ganache, decorated to match the cupcakes, with Mia's name and Christening date in royal icing.

I love my clients!

Every now and then, I'll receive a last-minute order. Sometimes I can work them in to my other orders, and sometimes I can't. A couple of weeks back, I was able to help Debbie out with an order for her husband's birthday at the last minute. What with time constraints, I wasn't able to take any shots of the cakes before they were collected for the party.

Today I received a gorgeous email from Debbie thanking me for helping her out, and a shot of the cakes all set ready for their big night:

These cupcakes were a mix of Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Fudge. The Vanilla Bean cakes were topped with a buttercream swirl, and decorated with hand-cut musical notes.

The Chocolate Fudge cakes were topped with white fondant over vanilla bean buttercream, and decorated with a silver royal icing "50".

The cutting cake is Vanilla Bean buttercream over Vanilla Bean cake. and decorated with an Essendon plaque and tied at the waist with red, black, pink and silver ribbons.

Hope you had a great birthday Geoff!

Christening cupcakes for Sarah-Jane

The lovely Sarah-Jane was Christened this morning, and her gorgeous Mum (and Grandma too) selected a mix of chocolate fudge cupcakes with lavendar rolled fondant over chocolate fudge frosting, with a white rosebud, a tri of sugar pearls, and a flourish of pearlised royal icing, and vanilla bean cupcakes with blush pink fondant over vanilla bean buttercream, decorated in my whimsical style of a ruffled blossom, a rosebud and mini butterfly resting on a royal icing swirl.

Grandma Judy baked a beautiful fruit cake, which we covered in the same blush pink fondant as the whimsical cupcakes, and decorated to match, with some pearlised royal icing piping to mark the ocassion.
