A few days ago, I received an email from Kat.
Kat lives in the back of beyond (well, beyond Rockhampton), and she is a cervical cancer survivor. Kat told me that while she was going through her treatments, looking at my cakes would cheer her up and help her get through the day.
I can't begin to tell you how touched I was by getting Kat's email.
To me, the rose is a symbol of strength. It will flourish and produce the most gorgeous blooms, even under the most trying conditions, which I though was a fitting symbol of Kat's (and other cancer survivors) battle to come back from such a horrible condition.
So Kat, these roses are for you.
I hope that you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed creating them for you.

Oh my goodness! Juli, I can't tell you how touched I am by your kind words and of course your incredible cupcakes. They are absolutely beautiful and the symbolism of the rose is perfectly suited to what I (and other cancer survivors) have gone through. I actually have a rose tattoo to represent my new beginning and it's my favourite flower. Thankyou so much for thinking of me and for once again putting a smile on my face. You and your gorgeous cupcakes never fail to brighten my day. With love, Kat.
Those are so beautiful
